MARTY SANCHEZ LINKS DE SANTA FE HAS BECOME THE 316TH CERTIFIED FOOTGOLF COURSE WITHIN THE UNITED STATES TO OFFER THE
ONE-OF-A-KIND SPORT THAT HAS SWEPT ACROSS THE NATION
FOOTGOLF INTRODUCTION
FootGolf has become one of the fastest growing sports in today’s generation, allowing players to enjoy a friendly, yet slightly competitive one-of-a-kind sport. While this new sports craze has taken over 315 golf courses in the US alone, both golf and soccer enthusiasts have joined in the excitement to test their abilities in hopes to master this global sport. Marty Sanchez Links de Santa Fe joins in on the excitement as the exclusive listing in the Santa Fe area and is the 316th certified American FootGolf League course within the US alone. This affordable, family-friendly sport has combined two of the most beloved sports of all time to create a unique sport that can be enjoyed by people of all ages.
After careful consideration, the staff at Links de Santa Fe have considered adjustments to the Great 28 course in order for it to align with the pace of play for both regular golf patrons and FootGolf patrons. For those not familiar with the game of FootGolf, the golf course does not use regular golf greens and instead, uses a special cut on all fairways and roughs. This allows FootGolf patrons to get the soccer ball into the over-sized cup. The game is played with a regulation #5 soccer ball at a golf course facility on shortened holes with 21-inch diameter cups. The rules largely correspond to the rules of golf and is played throughout the world in many different forms, but as a sport, it is regulated by the Federation for International FootGolf (FIFG).
It is recommended for individuals to bring their own soccer ball, however, ball rentals will be available in the Pro Shop. Due to the nature of this sport, proper attire and dress code is in effect. Individuals should remember that we are a “family appropriate” facility and we recommend indoor soccer shoes, sneakers or tennis shoes; absolutely NO CLEATED SHOES of any kind are allowed.
This sport proves to be a challenge, both mentally and physically, and allows individuals to have fun in a unique way. So don't miss out on a great excuse to get together and enjoy the game of FootGolf!
