The golf course advisory committee at Marty Sanchez Links de Santa Fe is a chartered panel of appointed volunteers selected by mayors, both previous and present, to act in an advisory capacity to the golf course administration and the City of Santa Fe. The purpose of the committee is to protect and promote the image of Marty Sanchez Links de Santa Fe through assisted planning, development, maintenance, and operational use of the facility. The committee helps give guidance on all matters affecting the course-included policies, procedures, maintenance and programs, along with other administrative matters.

Since the conceptual approval of city councilors to buy land from the U.S. Bureau of Land Management in 1991, Marty Sanchez Links de Santa Fe, a section of the Municipal Recreation Complex (MRC), has welcomed a variety of sports enthusiasts to its 1,200 acre complex. Twenty-four members chosen from the public have helped lead the 'municipal outdoor recreation and golf site selection and feasibility task force committee', a city project that ranged from 1992 to 1998.
